Summary:
Considered a founding father of the art movement known as Cubism, he consistently pushed the boundaries of how space, form, and depth were perceived. He created a new pictorial domain where forms were thought rather than felt. His inventive techniques included mixing pigment with sand and metal filings; simulating wood and marble textures and creating compositions of pasted paper collage. Worked in many mediums including sculpture, illustration and graphics.
