In 3500 B.C., Morven and her tribe are forced to roam the steppes of Kazakhstan by a killing drought that leaves them struggling to survive. Morven, feeling more kinship with animals than her own people, befriends a herd of wild horses. Her discovery changes forever her world and world of a young man from another tribe, whose goal is to use Morven's knowledge of horses not just to survive, but to conquer. It is up to Morven to lead her people one more time in order to save them.
