Title:
Adventure in art : an international group of art collections in industrial environments
Summary:
Encompassing about one hundred years, this group of art collections includes the sculptures of Rodin and later sculptors, to the mid-sixties. The developing story of avant-garde art is illustrated by separate collections of international sculpture; Italian sculpture: Abstract Expressionism, tachisme, and oher European developments of the fifties and sixties; modern British painting; and modern French tapestries. These collections are ciculated on exhibition tours to museums but, most interestingly, they are primarily displayed in the offices and factories of the separate companies that make up the group. The pieces are shifted periodically, but the basic hope is to relieve the montony of routine work-day tasks through the stimulation of art that is fresh and adventuresome.
