Reprinted from a letter, written in 1912, housed in the archives of the City of Toronto. The letter tells of Margaret's first encounter with her father, of her mother's worry about her job and of her little sister's being overtaken by paralysis. Dippers - dog-like creatures with leathery wings - were inhabiting the neighborhood.
