Josiah Henson's life is an epic tale of one man's battle against eveil, greed and ignorance. Born a slave in the United States, as a child he saw his father whipped for defending his mother against an attack by a white overseer. By the time he was six, Josiah had been sold three times. Yet in spite of his pain, as he matured Josiah never lost his faith or the sense of morality that was his bedrock. After his escape to Canada, Josiah led 118 slaves to safety as a conductor on the Underground Railroad. This is a very human story of triumph in the face of seemingly insurmountabel odds.
