Sixteen-year-old Ben is having difficulty adjusting to his mother's death and his move to England with his father. To make matters worse he is attacked by a stranger, followed by the school outcast, and strangely drawn to the nearby woods. He finds knowledge in the woods but is unsure whether it will restore order to his life or further complicate it.
