As the Cree people watch summer drift into autumn, they hunt all over the prairie for the great buffalo herds that will provide food for the coming winter. But they can find none and the people are growing desperate with hunger. The tribe must decide whether to follow the vision of a young boy, Sky Running, and risk enemy territory or face the harsh winter without sufficient food.
