Summary:
This novel relays the story of two girls living in different periods in time, whose destinies are linked by the good fortune they find at British Columbia's Point Ellice House. When Rose, a survivor of a tragic streetcar accident in 1896 that took the life of her widowed father, comes to live at this house, she befriends a wealthy woman who saves her from despair. One hundred years later, ostracized and friendless, Jess actually goes back and sees Rose, thus learning her story while volunteering at this historic home, and she finds the missing locket that Rose lost during the accident.
