Miskeen, a highly trained Russian circus horse, performed nightly, dancing for throngs of cheering fans, but in the end he suffered horrific brutality at the hands of those he trusted most and was left, broken, to live or die as he chose. Miskeen's own spirit and the care of a young British woman named Vicky Malia restored him to health and to a useful, happy life.
