Resumen:
Water can be a powerful force. It can cause parts of Earth to move or wash away, or it can change the surface of Earth by wearing away rock to create valleys, cliffs, and canyons. Water can cause these changes quickly or over a long period of time. The changes caused by water can be harmful to people's lives. People try to control the effects of water by building structures, such as levees and dams, to contain water. These structures help prevent the damage water can cause.
