Teacher resource for HLAT testing which provides students with an opportunity to demonstrate their writing achievement relative to the graded curriculum in language arts. Provides assessment context for the student writing, a process for making judgments of performance and grade level of achievement, a set of anchor papers and a list of books for all ages (related to the topic of Adventurers.) Samples of writing representing four levels of performance: excellent, proficient, adequate and limited quality are provided at each grade level. Assists teachers in schools across the district to be consistent and accurate when judging student work. Language arts grade seven and eight.
