Jasmine, Erin, Willow, and Lili are first year middle school students in Washington, D.C., chosen for the academic quiz team because of their expertise in art, math, science, and history--and when a precious, historical ruby is stolen from the school during a tournament the "Jewels" set out to use their talents to solve the mystery.
