This is a historical re-enactment of one Loyalist family's fate during the troubled times of the American Revolution. Based on the story of Hannah Ingraham, eleven years old at the end of the revolution, the film recounts the bitter fighting, with neighbor turning upon neighbor, friends and family turning upon each other and how almost 100,000 people went north to build new lives in the sparsely populated wilderness of what was then part of Nova Scotia.
