An anthology of the contributions of notable British women writers allowing the reader to appreciate the range and richness of their work. The anthology provides many different samples so the reader can become aware of the duration, development, and diversity of the literary achievements of women. Consideration has been given to the sampling from each century, so that trends and relationships can be traced. As well, different genres have been a critical selection factor, in order to make connections and comparisions of work.
