Resumen:
In "Paternity" James Calvin Schaap's characters find themselves in close quarters with one another. Each of the short stories in this collection is poignant and simple the way a great American folksong is simple. Always there is an eye is on the family in these novels, and always, there is new light to be shed, a surprising attitude to be expressed. A husband and wife negotiate the awkwardness of an unwanted pregnancy. A son, born outside of marriage, takes his family to see his father in church, where the father is a preacher. Schaap comes at the topic of paternity with characters at a variety of ages and points in their lives. These folk are serious about their Christian faith.
