Resumen:
"Perspectives on Ideology" contains resources that provide a springboard to address curriculum outcomes for the Alberta Social Studies 30-1 Program of Studies; students will think critically about the relationship among identity, citizenship and ideology, and about the origins, complexities and issues related to ideologies, including liberalism. Students will examine multiple perspectives regarding ideologies and identity, individualism and collectivism, the evolution and viability of the principles of classical and modern liberalism, and analysis of various political and economic systems. Students will also examine perspectives and build understandings of the rights, roles and responsibilities associated with active and informed citizenship and identity in democratic and other types of societies, coming to an understanding of how they see their own citizenship and how they will use the skills they developed in the course to respond to local, national and global issues. Students will develop these understandings as they address the key issue for the course - To what extent should we embrace an ideology?
