In 3500 B.C., Morven and her tribe are forced to roam the steppes of Kazakhstan by a killing drought that leaves them struggling to survive. Morven, feeling more kinship with animals than her own people, befriends a herd of wild horses. Her discovery changes forever her world and world of a young man from another tribe, whose goal is to use Morven's knowledge of horses not just to survive, but to conquer.
