This unit is based on an arrangement of John Bunyan's "Pilgrim's Progress" which is titled "Dangerous Journey". It is the story of a character named Christian and his journey to the Celestial City. On this journey, Christian encounters many situations and characters to help him or hinder him. In this allegory, students and teachers will find connecting points to their own experiencs. They will be challenged to see different events and people in their own lives in connection with their own travels along the road to "be in Christ" (Christian). This unit was developed for use in Grade 8/9 Bible, though it presents many opportunities for integration with other subjects. The unit includes clear lesson outlines, many suggested activities, student handouts, slides, and examples of student work.
