Canada is a new country with plans to expand westward to the Pacific Ocean. In 1869, it purchases vast lands from the Hudson's Bay Company without consulting with the people of The Red River Colony. When these colonists invite Louis Riel and his provisional government to help them stand up for their rights, a rebellion is set in motion.
