Thomas loves basketball and stays after school to watch the girls' team play. One of the players blows him away with her skills and Thomas finds out that she lives only two streets away from him. As they get to know each other, they discover they have a lot in common. The only major difference is the colour of their skin. They start hanging out and are surprised at the cruel glances, name calling, and hurtful comments they endure when they are together.
