Resumen:
Sixteen-year-old Amy, a wealthy, privileged athlete from Toronto, wakes after a diving accident to find herself in a hospital bed, in casts, traction and in someone else's body. Amy has exchanged bodies with 15-year-old Krystal, a moody goth girl hit by a truck, who lives in foster care in a rough neighborhood. Garvie skillfully works the myriad details of such a life/mind switch, and readers will certainly feel for Amy as she tries desperately to return to her easy life and beloved pet; Krystal, understandably, has no interest in returning to her origins. There's no happy ending, but Garvie's message that one can remake one's life at any point, from any position, is hopeful without being didactic. The Canadian setting will not deter American readers, who may be intrigued at the similarities in life across the northern border. This character-driven tale invites readers to put themselves in someone else's shoes and look beyond surfaces for the basic human needs of love, understanding, and connection.--Carton, Debbie Copyright 2009 Booklist.
