Benji, who has lived his whole life in a sleepy midwestern town and longs for his "Moment"--that one event that will make his life meaningful--discovers that he and his friends have managed to shoot down a flying saucer in the old quarry. Deciding to keep it a secret, the youths attempt to solve its mysteries on their own, drawing threats both earthly and alien to their little town.
