Ben Ben is a naughty and very active monkey who falls from the top of a tree and starts crying. His animal friends gather around him, each with a different reaction. The story presents various reactions that a child might encounter in their life environment, and shows their failure to alleviate sadness or pain; as it becomes clear in the end that all Ben Ben needed was a friend by his side.
