Fourteen-year-old Mike Watson is not happy when his family is forced to move from Alberta to the Arctic Circle after his father, a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, is transferred, and is even more upset when he realizes his new school does not have a lacrosse team, but as he gets to know the kids at his new school, Mike is introduced to traditional Arctic sports and finds a new outlet for his athleticism.
