Sommaire:
Unfettered by the constraints of the novel, Virginia Woolf regarded her short fiction as a form of liberation. It was a genre that allowed to experiment without inhibition. Because of their experimental nature, her short pieces are diverse and difficult to categorize, ranging from the more traditional style of 'Solid Objects', through the fragile impressionism of 'Kew Gardens', to the abstract exploration of consciousness in 'The mark on the wall'.
