Kitoo and Nigosi, Kenyan orphans, spend their days studying, playing soccer, helping with chores and reading from the books in their library. When Kitoo sees a copy of Sports Around the World he is fascinated by the Canadian national men's ice hockey team. The fates align and Kitoo finds a pair of beat up old roller blades, he teaches himself to skate and dreams of playing hockey like the men in his book.
