This spelling workbook aims to help adult beginner spellers develop a strategy-based approach to spelling. Although accurate spelling is the final goal, it is important that strategy building remain the focus as you and the learners work through the units in this book. The first unit in the book introduces the five strategies, or spelling tools that the learners will use throughout the remaining twenty units. The five spelling tool are these: 1) Say, listen, and write, 2) Make a word family, 3) Divide and conquer, 4) Use a spelling rule, 5) Look for tricky parts.
