Witches Joanna Beauchamp and her two daughters, Freya and Ingrid, on restriction by the Council since Salem, are living as ordinary women in North Hampton on Long Island, but circumstances lead them to use their magic on occasion and when that goes unnoticed, they grow bolder until the townspeople, always aware there was something different about the Beauchamp women, begin blaming them for a series of misfortunes.
