In the early 1800s, a volcanic eruption in Indonesia darkened skies around the workd and indigenous peoples in northern Canada fought to survive a year with no summer. "Two winters" depicts the struggle of a pre-contact First Nations family when the animals changed their migratory routes and the sun was obscured by clouds of ashes. This story segues into a Tutchone myth about the creation of the animals and how they, through ingenuity and determination, make an epic journey to join Winter World to Summer World.
