The guide has excellent photographs and descriptions of common birds, and a few that are not so common. The photos have enough detail to distinguish tail patterns, eye patches and other features. Many national field guides are often East coast-centric, but this bird book would be very useful in most regions of the United States and Canada. An excellent beginning birder guidebook.
