Three stories in verse: "I Can Lick 30 Tigers Today," "King Looie Katz," and "The Glunk That Got Thunk." Each story features the Cat in the Hat's extended family: his son (who brags about his prowess to fight tigers -- as long as their fingernails are clean or they are not too small, too tired, too hot, or too real and intimidating "you just wait here, I'll beat you up right after lunch"), his daughter (whose imagination runs away with her) and his great-great-grandfather (a king who learns not to be too proud).
